Celebrating the Next Gen of Talent
The Robert Juniper Award for the Arts recently hosted its annual Winter Concert, a much-loved event that brings together young talent, dedicated educators, and a community passionate about the arts. This year’s concert once again shone a well-deserved spotlight on the exceptional young musicians of Eastern Hills Senior High School and Guildford Grammar School.
From big band numbers that filled the room with energy, to beautifully performed instrumental and choral pieces, and solo performances that left the audience spellbound - each act was a testament to the skill, dedication and creative spirit thriving in our Perth Hills schools.
A special thank you goes to Ben Bulla, a former RJAFTA scholarship recipient, for returning to the stage with a heartfelt and memorable performance. Our deep appreciation also extends to both schools for their continued enthusiasm and commitment to assisting RJAFTA in our fundraising efforts, and to their talented music directors, whose tireless work made the evening such a success. We are especially grateful to Eastern Hills Senior High School for once again hosting the concert in their superb auditorium.
Our thanks also to Emma Kate Goodlet, a former EHSHS big band musician, who kindly stepped in as photographer on the night - capturing not only the brilliant performances but also the camaraderie, laughter, and behind-the-scenes moments that make the event so special.
We were honoured to welcome Shire of Mundaring Councillors Doug Jeans and Jo Cicchini, whose presence underscored the strong local support for nurturing young artistic talent. Their participation, along with the warmth and enthusiasm of the audience, helped make the evening a genuine celebration of music, community, and the bright future of the arts in the Hills
